This tiny Mexican spot near Desert Breeze Park shot to national fame when chef DJ Flores was named a James Beard Award semi-finalist in 2024. But local chefs and foodies have been raving about it since it opened in 2021, including Eater Las Vegas editor Janna Karel, who calls it one of her favorite Mexican restaurants in Las Vegas, specifically “for the tortillas.”

Those tortillas – made from masa the chef grinds himself, from heirloom varieties of Mexican corn – have become the chef’s calling card. They’re so good, customers come from all over the valley to purchase both the masa and the tortillas in bulk. But we prefer to let Flores work his magic with them.

Taco options include beer-battered fish, mushroom carnitas, ribeye asada, chicken, shrimp, barbacoa and cauliflower. Chilaquiles come layered with black beans and sunny-side eggs. And assorted tamales are available by the dozen, but need to be ordered two days in advance. There’s also a breakfast/brunch menu offering blue corn pinole pancakes, huevos rancheros, and black bean tetela with eggs, among other things.
